Vice President Leni Robredo served as an influencer and accidentally boosted the sales of handwoven shawls and ponchos from Kalinga.

The presidential candidate was spotted wearing a pink poncho with traditional Kalinga tapestry designs during her last week’s visit to Baguio City. According to Lakbay Kalinga, a Facebook page for the Kalinga province community, a lot of orders came in and requested a similar color and design. The group shared the poncho was made by Lubuagan local weavers of Taitana’s Dress Shop in Tabuk City, Kalinga.

Its owner, Jennifer Pinated, called the poncho Leni Poncho after orders came in droves from the United States, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, and France when they saw it on the Politiko.
