Vintar Mayor Larisa Fronda said non-residents can still go to the town’s public market.

The Ilocos Norte politiko made the statement after she ordered the mandatory wearing of masks in the public market.

The municipal government of Sarrat earlier banned the entry of vendors who live in coronavirus disease (COVID19) “critical zones.”

But the Vintar municipal government said that non-residents should first coordinate with them before entering the town.

“Please do not attempt to enter Ilocos Norte without the go-signal of the LGU Vintar and the provincial government of Ilocos Norte as you will only be left stranded at the borders,” the municipal government said in a statement.

“We need everyone’s understanding and cooperation more than ever,” Fronda said.
