Tineg Vice Mayor Edwin Crisologo last January 29 surrendered to the police five loose firearms.
The Abra politiko gave up three rifles, a homemade shotgun, and a .38 revolver.
Police Regional Director Rolando Nana said the surrender is part of the police’s intensified campaign against unlicensed firearms in time for the midterm elections in May.
“This is for our own good and for the public as well,” Nana said.
“This is a manifestation that the people here in Abra wants a change on how other people perceive about this province especially during elections,” he added.
