The provincial governments of Apayao and Ifugao have appealed to the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) to lower their quarantine classifications in July.

In a statement, presidential spokesman Harry Roque said the IATF approved the appeal, citing that both provinces have recorded a consistent downtrend in the number of active cases in June.

Starting July 1, Apayao will be under General Community Quarantine (GCQ), while Ifugao will be under Moderate General Community Quarantine (MGCQ). This classification will be effective until the 15th of the month.
