The municipality of Tayum might be placed on Commission on Elections (Comelec) control.
This after a pair of shootings involving local candidates last Tuesday.
Comelec-Abra Elections Officer Dexter Cawis said the Cordillera Regional Police Office is probing the shooting incidents.
Abra was earlier declared an election hotspot by the Comelec.
“We still have to verify what really happened in Tayum,” Cawis said.
“The police report usually goes up to the region and is submitted to the JSCC and will be forwarded to the Comelec en banc, which will determine whether to place it under Comelec control,” he added. said.
