Senator Imee Marcos said “Maid in Malacañang,” the controversial historical fiction film where she is the executive producer, has grossed P63 million in its first three days of screening.

The North Luzon politiko made the statement on Saturday, August 6, as she continued to hype up the movie directed by pro-Marcos director Darryl Yap.

“Totoo ang tsismis! Dahil sa malakas niyong suporta, umabot na sa P63 MILLION Total gross to date ang Maid in Malacañang in just 3 days!” said Marcos in a Facebook post.

The film depicts the Marcos family’s final 72 hours in Malacañang during the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution that ousted the patriarch, the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr. The movie is supposed to tell the side of the Marcoses, but critics argue the film aims to revise history and spread lies about the atrocities committed during Martial Law.
