Pangasinan 4th District Representative Christopher de Venecia said a centralized space agency will lead to a more developed Philippines.
The Pangasinan politiko made the remark after the Philippine Space Development Act bill or House Bill No. 8541 was passed on second reading in the House of Representatives.
De Venecia is one of the co-authors of the proposed measure.
He said space exploration in the Philippines should not end with weather satellites.
“The success of DIWATA1 and 2 is only the start of the success of our space explorations, and with the help of a centralized agency, I believe we can move further in developing Filipino space scientists, space science researchers, and astronomers,” De Venecia said.
