Toff de Venecia eyes development of astronomical science in the Philippines
Pangasinan 4th District Representative Christopher de Venecia did not waste time during Typhoon Ompong.
The Pangasinan politiko said he met with the National Space Promotion, Awareness, and Capabilities Enhancement (SPACE) to discuss the Philippine Space Agency Bill.
De Venecia’s proposed measure seeks to “institutionalize government support and funding for astronomical science in the Philippines.”
“This will pave the way for Filipino space scientists, space science researchers, and astronomers to forge on in developing the field of astronomical science in the country,” he said.
“It will also help us in global representations on space agreements and arbitrations,” De Venecia added.
