Toff de Venecia Mar 11, 2018 @ 8:42

A politiko is lobbying for the passage of a bill that would reorganize the membership of the Advisory Committee assisting the National Council for Children’s Television (NCCT).

Pangasinan 4th District Representative Christopher “Toff” de Venecia filed House Bill Number 7290.

Its goal is to ensure that quality television programs for Filipino children will help in their empowerment and holistic development.

“As principal author of the bill, I believe there is a need to ensure that the NCCT is advised knowingly and prudently in the formulation of national policies pertaining to children’s broadcast programs, since the future lies in the hands of our children,” said De Venecia.

Congress approved yesterday on second reading House Bill 7290 or The Children’s Television Act. The Bill aims to amend the composition of the membership of the Advisory Committee which assists the National Council for Children’s Television in the formulation of national policies pertaining to children’s broadcast programs and in monitoring its implementation, to ensure that quality television programs are offered to Filipino children for their empowerment and holistic development. As principal author of the Bill, I believe there is a need to ensure that the NCCT is advised knowingly and prudently in the formulation of national policies pertaining to children’s broadcast programs, since the future lies in the hands of our children. #CDV #HouseBill
