Baguio City Mayor Benjamin “Benjie” Magalong placed Barangay Sto. Niño-Slaughterhouse Compound under lockdown after its residents refused to heed physical distancing rules.
The politiko signed on Sunday, July 19, Memorandum Order No. 121, Series of 2020, a copy of which he posted on Facebook.
Magalong said residents of the compound have been seen loitering without their face masks and have disobeyed physical distancing protocols.
“In order to safeguard the safety and security of its residents, and to ensure compliance with our MGCQ health and safety protocols, I hereby order a lockdown over Brgy. Sto. Niño-Slaughterhouse Compound, effective today and until further notice,” said the mayor.
Affected residents who need basic goods may buy them through the satellite market or rolling stores in the area.
