A suspect in the failed ambush attempt on former Pangasinan governor Amado Espino, Jr. was arrested in Mabalacat, Pampanga on Friday, June 24.
Police reported that the suspect, identified only by his aliases of Win and Roger, is a former Army soldier and a native of Mangatarem, Pangasinan. He is also an alleged member of a private armed group.
Lt. Col. Heryl Bruno, Mabalacat police chief, reported that investigation showed that thee suspect was one of those tagged in the gun attack on Espino and his party on Sept. 11, 2019.
One of Espino’s aides, S/Sgt. Richard Esguerra and driver Agapito Cuison were killed during the attack.
He was arrested on warrants for murder, attempted murder and frustrated murder.
