Ex-Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. believes his father, the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos, is a Filipino patriot worth emulating.
The politiko posted a picture of his father saluting the flag to accompany Bongbong’s Independence Day message on Tuesday, June 12.
“Today we remember, and in remembering, we consecrate that memory of all the courageous and selfless Filipino patriots – our heroes – who gave their lives for that freedom, and to whom we forever owe our status as a free, independent and sovereign nation in the community of nations,” said Bongbong.
“Let them long live in our minds, our hearts, in our very souls, the heroes of our great country, our beloved Philippines,” he added.
Ferdinand Marcos’ 21-year rule was marred by corruption, killings, torture, disappearances, and media oppression.
