The town of Sual has recorded its first coronavirus disease (COVID19) patient.
The Provincial Health Office said the patient is a 28-year old male from Barangay Cabalitian.
The patient is a fish dealer in Malabon.
Barangay Cabalitian has also been placed on lockdown.
“He arrived in Sual on May 11 and was categorized as a probable case for COVID19 because of his travel history. Swab sample was taken from him on May 19 and the result came out positive on May 24,” PHO Chief Anna de Guzman said.
Mayor Dong Calugay, meanwhile, said the municipal government has partnered with Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center for the “targeted” testing of frontliners and returning residents.
“The local government unit (LGU) of Sual will provide the necessary help to our constituents in the community, such as relief goods and other support initiatives,” he said.
