Senator Imee Marcos wants the government and telecommunications firms to step up in blocking spam messages from reaching Filipinos.

The Ilocani politiko made the call in a Facebook post on Thursday, November 25, amid the rising number of spam messages being sent to Filipinos by anonymous numbers.

Marcos in particular wants the National Telecommunications Commission and the National Privacy Commission to work together with telcos, banks, and online shopping platforms to create a system that would block spam messages.
