Stay safe, kids! Gov Manotoc ‘indefinitely’ suspends classes in Ilocos Norte

Classes have been “indefinitely” suspended in the province of Ilocos Norte due to the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) scare.

Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc issued Executive Order Number 59-20 on Friday, March 13.

On his Facebook page, the politiko said he is “indefinitely suspending classes in all levels of both public and private schools in the Province of Ilocos Norte subject to further guidelines and directives that may be issued by the National Government.”

Manotoc said the suspension aims to “prevent community transmission, minimize the movement of individuals, and abate the spread of coronavirus disease.”

To date, Ilocos Norte has not recorded any positive cases of 2019-nCoV, which has infected 64 people and killed 5 in the Philippines.
