A government employee assigned to a slaughterhouse was shot dead on Tuesday, June 28 in Tuguegarao City.
Local police have identified the victim as 57-year-old Genaro Matammu. According to Cagayan Police Spokesperson Isabelita Gano, the victim was talking to his cousin when the gunman riding a motorcycle shot him in the head multiple times.
Matammu died on the spot, while the assailant fled immediately and is now being tracked down by the authorities.
