Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat has vowed to allot P500 million for the rehabilitation of the Summer Capital’s iconic Burnham Park.
Romulo-Puyat made the commitment during her recent meeting with Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong.
The city government earlier said around P300 million is need for the tourist destination’s rehab.
Among the proposed improvements are the facelift of the Rose Garden, creation of a senior citizen’s park, and the establishment of a creative center.
The city government is also eyeing the re-development of the Melvin Jones footbal ground, the establishment of a foundatin, and the rehab of the Burnham Lake.
