The Supreme Court (SC), sitting as the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET), has scheduled the ballot recount for the electoral protest of former senator Bongbong Marcos against Vice President Leni Robredo on March 19.
Ballots from Camarines Sur, Iloilo, and Negros Oriental will be recounted.
The three provinces were chosen by the Ilocos Norte politiko as pilot provinces for the recount.
This means that the merit of the Marcos’ electoral protest will be based on the results of the ballot recount in the three provinces.
Marcos filed the electoral protest after he accused Robredo of cheating in the 2016 elections.
