The San Fernando city government on October 20 was awarded second place in the 2017 Regional Search for Outstanding Coastal Community of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).
BFAR’s recognition is due to the San Fernando city government’s efforts in preserving and protecting its marine ecosystem.
BFAR awards cities and municipalities for their programs contributing to sustainable fisheries development.
The San Fernando city government was given P1 million as prize.
The prize money will be used for the city government’s fishery livelihood projects.#
