The first batch of coronavirus vaccines bought by the provincial government has finally arrived in Ilocos Norte.
Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc said in a Facebook post on Wednesday, July 21, that these vaccines plus 30,000 other doses coming from the Department of Health (DOH) will be used as the provincial government resumes its vaccination program on Thursday, July 22.
“GOOD NEWS: Ilocos Norte has received the first batch of vaccines procured by the Provincial Government today, as well as a DOH allocation of over 30,000 doses of various COVID-19 vaccines. These will be included to the mass vaccination rollout, which will resume tomorrow, and distributed to Ilocos Norte’s component LGUs to speed up immunization rollout to the grassroots,” said Manotoc.
The politiko said Laoag City residents will be prioritized for the vaccination drive due to the city’s current high COVID-19 infection rate. Doses from the DOH will also be set aside for those in the A1, A2, and A3 priority groups.
