Renewable energy firm: Waste-to-energy facility still pushing through

Sure Global W2Wi, in a statement, clarified that they were never informed that Dagupan City Mayor Brian Lim junked their proposed waste-to-energy project.

The Singapore-based firm made the statement after Politiko reported that the Dagupan city government is considering three options to address the possible closure of the open dumpsite in Bonuan.

Julia Boughton, Sure Global Chief Executive Officer, said as far as they’re concerned the project is still moving forward.

She said company officials met with the Dagupan City Council last November 12 about the project’s timeline.

“We are indeed looking forward to moving the project forward in Dagupan as per the signed Joint Venture Agreement,” she said.

“We continue to support the City of Dagupan in their efforts to eliminate the current dumpsite and develop a solution for cost effective and sustainable waste management,” Boughton added.
