It’s official: Sandro Marcos has finally taken his oath as Ilocos Norte 1st District’s congressman in the 19th Congress.
The North Luzon politiko shared a photo of him giving his speech on Wednesday, June 29, right at the heart of his home turf. It’s a very dramatic photo, angled in such a way that the spotlights highlighted Marcos’ profile.
In his speech, Marcos highlighted his legislative priorities including infrastructure projects for his constituents. He also recalled his father, President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr., telling him that when their family was exiled in 1986, Ilocanos stood by them. Sandro is the grandson of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr.
“Kaya ang sinasabi ko ngayon, lahat kayo rito ay naging kasama namin sa kahirapan. Dapat na dapat magkasama rin tayo sa tagumpay,” said Marcos.
“It makes me so so happy to say that I am here, Congressman-elect Ferdinand Alexander Marcos, not just ready to serve, but now at your service,” he added.
