Pangasinan Governor Amado “Pogi” Espino III has suspended crowd-attracting public events in the province until mid-April due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-2019) scare.
The politiko issued the advisory on Thursday, February 13, to comply with advisories from the Department of the Interior and Local Government, and the Department of Health.
“In compliance with the advisories of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Department of Health (DOH) on the ongoing threat of the spread of 2019 novel Coronavirus (2019 nCoV), renamed Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Provincial Government of Pangasinan hereby postpones all its scheduled public events and gatherings that are expected to draw large attendees or participants effective today until mid-April this year,” Espino said.
But he said the province will still observe annual events that have fixed dates.
Although, we will celebrate such special occasions in simple but meaningful ways,” Espino said.
