Pangasinan PNP reports decline in crimes against children

Pangasinan Police has reported a decline in the number of crimes against children in 2022.

In a report by the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD), a gradual decline in cases has been reported from 2018 to 2022. From January to November 15 this year, there are only 178 recorded cases involving children who were victims of rape, homicide, and murder, and physical injury, robbery with homicide, theft, and violation to the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016.

It also cited that there were 319 cases of children’s abuse and other crimes recorded in 2018, 346 in 2019, 284 in 2020, and 246 in 2021.
