Alcala Mayor Tin Antonio is excited to kick off the municipality’s tree-planting activities, aimed to help protect the town from strong typhoons.
The politiko was oozing with excitement as she invited her Facebook followers to join the tree-planting activities on Wednesday, November 25, and Thursday, November 26.
Antonio said they will be planting forest, flowering, and fruit-bearing trees – and they’re all native to the Philippines.
“Please join us as we start to build the mighty, green wall of Alcala! These tree-planting activities of the Municipality of Alcala, Cagayan are the first of many. We will be planting trees on slopes, watersheds, riverbanks, roadsides, schools and communities — a wall of trees that will save us and future generations from devastating floods such as we have experienced last November 11-16, 2020,” Antonio said.
“See you on these exciting days!” she added.
