Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong ordered local health authorities to expedite and ramp up the vaccination rollout of the city.

In an interview, the Politiko said that this is a precautionary and preemptive measure in anticipation of the increase in COVID-19 cases in the city after it has reopened for domestic tourism and to prepare for the potential threats of the Delta variant.

He added that the locality is now preparing to increase the capacities of the city’s five vaccination sites so that a total of 5,500 to 6,000 individuals could be vaccinated per day given a steady supply of vaccines.
