The Office of the Ombudsman has junked a graft case against Cagayan Governor Manuel Mamba for lack of merit.
The graft charge was filed by Board Member Christopher Barcena in relation to Mamba’s hiring of Eric Antiporda, Rachel De la Cruz, and Andrew Vincent Pagurayan as provincial government consultants.
The Ombudsman said Mamba didn’t violate the law when he hired the three despite running in the 2016 elections.
The Ombudsman said the Cagayan politiko only hired them via job order or contract of service.
This means that three were never provincial capitol employees.
