Ifugao Representative Teddy Baguilat Jr. was surprised that young Filipinos are on the receiving end of abuse more than Filipina girls.
The politiko shared his recent finding on a Facebook post on Thursday, January 11.
“It’s shocking to find out that, as per the national baseline study, there are more incidences of violence against boys than girls in the Philippines,” said Baguilat.
“Sexual abuse, physical abuse, child labor, bullying – ito mga problems ng boys. It’s seldom that abuse against boys is discussed in the public or in the family,” he added.
He then vowed to launch a campaign to protect the rights of the boy child, since Baguilat is chairperson of the Philippine Legislators Committee on Population and Development.
