The Department of Agriculture assured local farmers and hog raisers in the Cordillera Administrative Region that they have regained control over the cases of African swine fever after months of outbreaks.

DA-CAR Regional Director Cameron Odsey told reporters that appropriate measures have been placed to mitigate the effects of the virus and stabilize the supply and price of pork in the market.

He also added that appropriate financial assistance had already been distributed by the agency to affected hog raisers for them to be able to recover from the infestations that severely affected the income and livelihood of many barangays in the region.
