Kalinga Representative Allen Jesse Mangoang hopes journalist in the Cordillera Administrative Region will continue to uphold ethical standards in the industry.
The North Luzon politiko made the statement in his speech during the induction of new officers of the Baguio Correspondents and Broadcasters Club on Monday, January 30.
“I would just like to appeal to every media practitioner, whether in the mainstream media or in social media, that if we are to contribute for the common good, let’s make use of the opportunities of a highly democratized media market by upholding the highest ethical standards,” said Mangoang.
“We should always be reliable sources of information and not resort to be peddlers of fake news, hate speech, and discrimination, which are now at its abusive height, especially in the social media,” he added.
