NBI arrests sex trafficker in Isabela

The National Bureau of Investigation arrested an alleged sex trafficker and rescued two women in a sex den in Ilagan City, Isabela.

According to NBI Officer-in-Charge Director Eric Distor, the suspect was identified as Nina Carlota Baquiran Mansibang who was reportedly involved in illegal sex trade and exploitation.

“OIC Distor said that the operation stemmed from an intelligence report that Subject Nina is engaged in the illicit sex trade, offering young women for sexual services in exchange for a fee,” the NBI said in a statement issued on Tuesday, August 17.

Initial reports found that the suspect asked P2,000 as payment for each of the two women and P800 for their pocket money.

The NBI added that the suspect was presented for inquest proceedings before the City Prosecutor of Ilagan City, Isabela for violation of Republic Act No. 9208 as amended by RA 10364, the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act.
