Narvacan puts up checkpoint after Abra records 1st coronavirus case


Narvacan Mayor Luis “Chavit” Singson established a 24-hour health safety checkpoint along the Narvacan-Abra boundary after Abra recorded its first novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) patient.

The Narvacan politiko created a joint task force composed by officials from the Philippine National Police, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and the Narvacan Health Office to man the 24-hour health safety checkpoint starting Sunday, March 15.

The temperature of travelers coming in and out of Narvacan and Abra will be checked.

“Let us ALL ensure the health & safety of our community and observe ALL the precautionary measures/guidelines issued by the Department of Health and the World Health Organization on COVID-19,” Singson said.
