Mountain Province is temporarily banning the entry of live pigs and fresh, frozen, or processed pork products due to the African Swine Fever (ASF) scare.
Mountain Province Governor Bonifacio Lacwasan Jr said the move is intended to protect the local swine industry.
While Cordillera is still ASF-free, the Mountain Province politiko said that banning the entry of pigs and pork products is a necessary measure.
Lacwasan also urged residents to be vigilant and report unusual observations on pigs.
Moreover, he called on piggeries to cooperate because it is for the survival of the whole industry.
