The Court of Appeals’ 4th Division has reversed the Office of the Ombudsman’s dismissal of Tuguegarao City Mayor Jefferson Soriano.
The CA ruled that the Cagayan politiko should only be penalized with a 3-month suspension and not dismissal from office.
The Office of the Ombudsman last January ruled that Soriano committed grave misconduct and grave abuse of authority for giving a provisional permit to operate a parking lot facility without getting approval from the Tuguegarao City Council.
But the CA said Soriano only committed simple misconduct.
Soriano took his oath of office last September 6.
