La Trinidad Mayor Romeo Salda said more tourism projects have been granted by the Department of Tourism (DOT) to boost the municipality’s tourism industry.
The Benguet politiko said the Cordillera office of the DOT is eyeing the installation of a viewdeck and showroom for La Trinidad’s cutflower industry in Barangay Bahong.
Salda added that the DOT wants to have have the houses in Barangay Pico painted to complement the painted houses of Kilometer 3.
He also said the municipal government will request the input of the stakeholders in the proposed design of the painted houses.
“We hope that we will be able to realize the completion of the tourism-related projects by next year to help boost the town’s tourism industry since tourism has been identified to be one of the major economic driver in the locality aside from agriculture and cutflower production,” Salda said.
