La Trinidad Mayor Romeo Salda said the municipal government saved around P2 million every month after Cell No. 3 of the Alno controlled dump facility was opened.
The municipal government earlier stopped hauling its solid waste to Urdaneta after it built Cell No. 3 at the Alno facility.
Salda said he plans on expanding the controlled dump facility with the construction of Cell No. 4.
He explained that building Cell No. 4 this early will benefit La Trinidad’s growing population.
The bulk of La Trinidad’s 30 tons of daily solid waste comes from the town’s vegetable trading post.
