La Trinidad Mayor Romeo Salda has ordered the closure of a private garbage facility for illegal operations.
In an order dated February 12, the Benguet politiko said the solid waste facility was found to have been operating without permits.
“This office affirms that you have not applied for and was not issued a permit for your hauling and storage of garbage/waste at your compound,” Salda said.
“You are hereby directed to cease and desist from operating/continuing with your activities upon receipt of this order. Thereafter, prior from operating/continuation of your operations, you must secure the necessary environmental and sanitation permits and/or licenses from concerned agencies,” he added in his order.
Salda also said the contractor was caught “burning waste.”
This violates Municipal Ordinance 53-98 or the Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Ordinance.
