La Trinidad Mayor Romeo Salda said the municipal government was caught off guard by the influx of tourists during the holiday season.
The Benguet politiko said the traffic congestion during the holiday season was much worse than previous years.
“We were caught off guard by the number of tourists who came recently,” Salda said.
“Previously, we were able to tolerate the traffic, but now it is worse than previous holidays,” he added.
Salda also said the municipal government is planning to tap Benguet State University to formulate a traffic plan at the strawberry farm area.
“We are studying what needs to be done with the parking area and the traffic scheme for the strawberry farm,” he said.
