La Trinidad Mayor Romeo Salda said the sacrifices made due to the coronavirus disease (COVID19) pandemic will ensure that the town’s children will still have a bright future.
The Benguet politiko made the remark during La Trinidad’s Foundation Day last June 16.
Salda earlier cancelled La Trinidad’s 70th Foundation Day celebration due to the community quarantine.
“Our celebration today manifests our strong determination to carve a better future for our children,” he said.
“We may not share a watwat today, or a cup or two of tapey. We may not dance and sing and bask in the laughter of our jolly aunts and uncles. But we are assured that La Trinidad will live long enough in our children even after we are gone,” Salda added.
