La Trinidad Mayor Romeo Salda has banned government workers from accessing social media and playing mobile games during officer hours.
The Benguet politiko cited the Civil Service Commission’s (CSC) directive as basis for the ban.
Salda explained that the CSC considers playing mobile games and using social media during officer hours as “conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service.”
He said employees caught violating the directive will be suspended.
“Be quick, courteous, and efficient in dealing with clients. Government working hours should not be spent playing games or being engaged in social media,” Salda said.
“Communicating and sharing of files in relation to official business shall use email service providers and not social media platforms,” he added.
