La Trinidad Mayor Romeo Salda said two of the town’s festivals have been shortlisted in the Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines – Department of tourism (ATOP-DOT) Awards 2019.
The municipality’s Strawberry Festival and La Trinidad Tourism Week were announced as finalists for the Tourism Best Practices award.
The coveted Pearl Award is given to the country’s top crowd-drawing events.
Salda said the Benguet Association of Tourism Officers was also announced as finalist for the Best Tourism Club award.
“We are keeping our fingers crossed but being short-listed in such a prestigious award is already a significant accomplishment on our part,” he said.
“We will still sustain the introduction of innovations to the annual staging of the said events so that tourists will be enticed to frequent the municipality because of the presence of new attractions,” Salda added.
