Tuba Mayor Ignacio Rivera is eyeing the development of the municipality’s coffee and cacao industry.
The Benguet politiko said the municipal government wants to produce 100,000 coffee and cacao seedlings for Tuba’s agro-forestry program.
Rivera said the municipal government has allocated P2 million for the production of the seedlings.
He also explained that propagating coffee and cacao will help improve forest reservations and other idle land in Tuba.
“We want to embark on a holistic environmental preservation and protection program that will provide our people with sustainable sources of livelihood while co-existing with nature,” Rivera said.
“We want the present and future generations in our communities to be able to co-exist with nature and pass on the same to upcoming generations,” he added.
