Tuba Mayor Ignacio Rivera said the the municipal government will give away cacao seedlings to farmers to “popularize” cacao production in the town.
The Benguet politiko said cacao farming will help diversify the livelihood of residents in the lowlands.
Rivera said cacao production is suitable in Tuba’s low-lying areas.
“We want to popularize cacao production among our farmers as an added source of income for their families,” he said.
“We want to provide our people with sustainable sources of livelihood which they could use to improve their living condition,” Rivera added.
