Mayor Magalong urges owners of former Santo Niño hospital to lend facility as PUI confinement center
Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong called on the owners of the former Santo Niño Jesus Medical Hospital along P. Burgos Road to allow the use of the vacant facility as a confinement center for patients under investigation (PUI) for the coronavirous disease (COVID-19).
The Santo Niño Medical Hospital shut down in 2009.
The Fernandez family owned the hospital.
They also own the Baguio Central University.
Magalong explained that the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) might not be lifted after a month.
“I am not that all optimistic that this will not be over in one month, not optimistic with two, three could be probable,” he said.
