Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong said that the Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC) will be testing waste-to-energy technology in the Summer Capital.
The Baguio politiko said the waste-to-energy technology can be a possible solution to the city’s solid waste disposal woes.
Magalong said the testing will be near the temporary waste transfer station within the Baguio Dairy Farm.
He said the waste-to-energy technology to be tested is the same one seen by President Rodrigo Duterte during his visit to Japan a few months ago.
“We will test the waste-to-energy demo unit in the city to ascertain its feasibility as a prelude to its installation in Antamok once the PNOC feasibility study on the waste-to-energy project is positive based on the ongoing feasibility study,” Magalong said.
