Baguio City Mayor Benjamin “Benjie” Magalong assured his people that the local government is dong everything in its power to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The politiko addressed Baguio residents in a video message posted on Facebook on Wednesdy, March 25.
“These abnormal times require extraordinary measures with exceptional understanding, patience and courage. Our government is relentless exhausting all possible measures and tapping all resources to fight this menace,” Magalong said.
He said they are “leaving no stones unturned” to control the contamination and protect Baguio’s front liners. Magalong added the government is working to ensure all residents will not be deprived of their basic needs while quarantined at home.
“COVID-19 has been showing us its might and we reel and deal with it. But it is not all about reeling and dealing. It is all about overcoming and overcoming is a shared responsibility,” Magalong said.
“We all work for it. Our people must cooperate by observing our curfew hours and physical distancing. So I say that by staying apart, you are doing your part.
Today we launch our battlecry against COVID-19. The virus is mighty but we can be mightier. In Baguio, WE WORK AS ONE, WE HEAL AS ONE!” he added.
