Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong said he will slowly allow more businesses to operate starting June 1.
The Summer Capital is set to be downgraded to modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) on Monday.
“Unti unti nating buksan ang mga businesses sa siyudad papuntang new normal,” Magalong said.
The Baguio politiko said the city can now better handle the coronavirus disease (COVID19) pandemic.
Magalong cited Baguio’s high recovery rate as well as outstanding contact tracing mechanism.
“With the safety mechanism in place, we have an added assurance of swift implementation of disease management procedures as we begin to ease up on restrictions in the business sector,” he said.
“Baguio residents have been model citizens as they reacted positively to our security and safety regulations,” Magalong added.
