Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong said the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) will provide the P430 million budget needed for the four new rain harvesting facilities in the Summer Capital.
The Baguio politiko made the announcement during the city government’s initial budget deliberations.
Magalong said Budget Secretary Wendel Avisado said the city government’s request for the budget has already been approved in principle.
The four new rain harvesting facilities aims will help improve Baguio’s water supply.
The Baguio Water District earlier upgraded the storage capacity of the Mount Santo Tomas catchment basin from 550,000 cubic meters to 700,000 cubic meters.
