Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong on March 2 said the city government is probing the contact tracing of a 30-year old female coronavirus disease (COVID19) patient.
The Baguio politiko said they have yet to identify where the patient got the virus.
The patient had no history of travel.
Magalong also said the patient’s close contacts were retested for COVID19.
“We should be able to control the virus to stop its mutation. As it jumps from one person to another, the more chances it has to mutate,” City Epidemiologist Donnabel Panes said.
“This is why we have the UK and African variants now and we can do it by correctly and consistently observing minimum public health standards,” she added.
