Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong said he will continue to increase the city’s testing capacity for the coronavirus disease (COVID19).
The Baguio politiko said the Summer Capital has a 16.6% testing capacity as of November 4.
Magalong said Baguio’s testing capacity is probably the highest in the country.
“The more tests we do, the more infections we find and the sooner we find these carriers, the more we are able to administer control measures like contact tracing, more testing, isolation and quarantine to prevent more transmissions and medical interventions to treat the patients and prevent deaths,” he said.
Magalong also said the city government is testing the more vulnerable sectors.
“We are not testing blindly. We are targeting the high-risk sectors to look for those who are infected,” he said.
